Free Baby Coupons for Baby Formula and other Frugal Baby Tips

Congratulations on your new baby! Babies are so sweet, and they depend on you for absolutely everything. Who knew everything would be so very expensive? Don’t worry though; there are ways to meet baby’s needs without breaking the bank. Click here and we will show you how to get free baby coupons for most of the items you will need. Take a minute to follow our links to other Frugal baby tips for additional information. Just because the baby store says you need this, that and the other item, doesn’t mean it is true. There are a few items you must take care of… feeding and diapers are the two biggies. Everything else is negotiable.

Breastmilk or Formula?

If you really want to save money, breastfeed your baby. It may take a few weeks to really get the hang of it, but it is time well-spent bonding with your baby and giving him optimum nutrition. You can’t beat the price… it’s free! Nurse your baby as long as you can… the added nutrition only helps your baby’s health, now and in the future.

If you can’t nurse your baby, you’ll need to use formula. If you qualify, sign up with WIC. WIC will provide formula, and if your little one has trouble with one kind, they can make the switch for you to another that works better. Even if you nurse your baby, WIC will give you extra nutrition for yourself, so look into it. If you don’t qualify for WIC, use coupons! Formula is incredibly expensive, so the more you can save, the better! Go to formula company websites to get coupons, and sign up for every baby newsletter you can online to get even more coupons, on everything from formula to diapers to other baby items.

Bottles

If you’re feeding formula or you are pumping breastmilk, you’ll need bottles. Get one of several types to see which one baby prefers. You may also need to consider the safety… recent studies have shown that plastic bottles release chemicals into the formula… and glass is on its way back.

Cloth or disposable?

If you don’t mind washing, cloth diapers can be terrific for saving money. After an initial investment, the only other cost you have is laundering. Cloth diapers will last for at least another child or two. Besides, cloth keeps disposable diapers out of the landfills, and your only cost after the purchase is laundering.

On the other hand, not everyone can use cloth. Maybe you don’t have a washer and dryer at home, or you just don’t have time. If you are using disposables, you may want to consider the brand name diapers over the generics. While the generics cost less, they also have more defective diapers in each pack and they leak sooner than the brand name diapers. Coupons are readily available for brand name diapers, just check online at the manufacturer’s websites.

Wipe that bottom!

Did you know you could make your own baby wipes? You can! You can use either washcloths or paper towels, and simply soak them with warm water, baby oil, and baby soap in a baking pan. Let it soak a few minutes, and then flip them over. Put your homemade wipes in a standard wipe container to keep them hydrated and ready for use.

If you prefer not to make your own, you can often get baby wipes in large bulk boxes at a better rate than buying individual boxes. Coupons are also available for most brands of wipes.

Baby Food

When baby starts reaching for the food on your plate, she’s ready to start trying solid food. But you know what? You need never spend a dime if you don’t want to. Baby can eat the same food you do… with a little extra preparation. On the other hand, maybe you’ve looked forward to having them in your cupboard. If you want to use baby food, look for more coupons or stock up during sales. They are available online and through the mail… sign up at company websites to get on their mailing lists.

Baby Accessories

As for all those other baby items… playpens, swings, cribs, strollers, walkers, high chairs and more… parents got along without them for generations before they were invented. The one extra item you do really need is a carseat. If you have a car or expect to transport baby in someone else’s car, you need a carseat. It’s the law. But all those other items are icing on the cake.

If you really do want some of those other items, take a look on eBay, or craigslist… you may even find some gently used versions in your local paper or at a garage sale.
