Beyond Milk! Cereals and Solid Baby Foods.

When baby is ready for solid foods, don’t grab that jar of bebe food just yet. Beginning slow is best for bebe. Most importantly, don't stop the milk. Rather than giving bebe 3 different meals, begin with one new meal each day. (I will use an alternate spelling of "Bebe" to avoid spamming the search engines)

Even when bebe gets ready for solid bebe food he or she still requires Breastfeeding or formula. You can’t escape that easy.

Starting bebe off on rice cereal seems to work best. It has less of a risk of inducing food allergies than other cereals. Giving baby inappropriate foods will delay advances in the feeding process.

To feed bebe, use a soft covered spoon . This spoon is easier on a babies gums and the correct size for babies mouth. Use a small bowl and a high chair or sit baby on your lap. This promotes learning the difference in position when drinking a bottle and eating solid food.

Blend a teaspoonful of rice cereal with a little amount of formula or breast milk. Bebe may decline your cereal offering, but he is not being pretentious. He has to smell it and check out this new thing. When he gets used to the taste sensation and the feel of the spoon, he will eat. Be patient, it may take a couple of attempts before babe is ready to actually accept a bite.

If bebe doesn’t warm up to the idea of the spoon, just use a bottle and try again at the next feeding. If bebe is teething at the same time you bring out solid foods, things could get a little tricky. He may want to chew on the spoon rather than eat. Give him a cool teething ring or a frozen waffle to chew on to ease the pain. When the gums are feeling better, try feeding him or her again.

Bebe will consume cereal for numerous months. After about month of rice cereal, you can begin to add other bebe cereals to the fare. Be careful not to stuff bebe too full of cereal. If he has gained too much weight, cut back on cereal to once or twice a day.

Pureed fruits and vegetables are a good start. Bring out individual foods first ahead of combinations. Babe gets a opportunity to sample each one food and determine one which he likes. This will likewise afford moms a opportunity to find out if an allergic reaction will develop.

Allow bebe to get accustomed a food for a couple of days before bringing in another one. You can introduce vegetables and fruits alternately so that babe doesn’t receive all sweetened fruits or all sourish vegetables. A sound mix will help to keep bebe fascinated.

Bebe food can be made at home from fresh or organic ingredients and stored (frozen) easily until needed. This option provides wholesome and nutritious meals without inflating the family budget.
