Saving Money with Baby Coupons
Baby coupons are great way to save money on expensive baby supplies. There are a lot of coupons available for disposable diapers, formula, baby wipes, baby food and lots of other items. It is easier to get coupons than you may think.
Local Sources
Of course, you can always check the Sunday paper. This is the day of the week that all the stores send out their circulars with their ads and coupons. Other stores may send some through the mail to arrive on Tuesdays. Stores that use these two methods will include Target, Wal-Mart, ShopKo, Sears, grocery stores and drug stores.
You can also check baby magazines like Baby Talk, American Baby, Mothering and Parenting. They may have coupons in some of their ads. They also have a section in the back where advertisers offer all sorts of goodies that you can request… anything from brochures to free samples to coupons. Fill out the card to request the ones you’re interested in and mail it in. Your mail will be full of coupons and samples soon!
Look in the waiting room when you go to the obstetrician, midwife or pediatrician. Many companies will leave flyers, coupons or brochures about their baby products there for new parents to pick up.
Local stores may offer their own baby clubs… if they do, sign up! You may get to take advantage of special offers that are only available for members.
Online Sources
If you need more, or what you find isn’t the right brand of items you need, start checking online. If you do a standard search for ‘free baby stuff,’ ‘baby coupons’ or something similar, you should get an entire list of websites specializing in freebies and links where you can get coupons or money off retail pricing. These sites will also list contests where you can win free baby items and other goodies. Be aware, however, that some of these “contests” really are not contests at all… they are rigged to get you to sign up for lots of spam and you may end up purchasing items you don’t really need because you’re trying to win six months worth of diapers.
After you’ve waded through all of those, hit the manufacturer websites like Pampers, Gerber and Enfamil. Sign up for newsletters and any new mom clubs they have. They will inundate you with coupons! The good part of going directly to the manufacturers is that you get coupons for what you really want… if you want Huggies diapers, but don’t want formula, you won’t get formula. Do another search for sites that specialize in parenting advice. They may also have clubs, newsletters and offers you can sign up for.
If you still need more coupons, there are people who actually collect them and sell them online in batches. Yes, it’s true. Take a few moments to search for coupons on your local craigslist.com or on eBay. You can get a large lot of diaper coupons, for instance for around a dollar or two on eBay. Another online place to find coupons is your local freecycle list. In the effort to recycle, many people will list coupons they got in the mail and didn’t use on one of these lists, and you can just drive over and pick them up for free.
